HEY TEACHER, DON’T LIVE THE KIDS ALONE!
Our 2nd anniversary, with the teachers
GreenBiker was born through 3 teachers, which helped us to be more sensitive to the areas of training and education.
Malala Yousafzai told the world, a few years ago, that “one pen, one book one teacher can change the world”. It was with this premise that we decided to do an activity inviting teachers (from Rabo de Peixe School) and their families to pedal with us and with our bikes.
The objectives were to encourage the population to use the bicycle as a means of daily transport and alert the driver’s attitude towards the cyclist.
The route began in front of the Fort of São Brás, in Ponta Delgada. We pedaled along the coast to Lagoa, then up to Cabouco. Finished in the Macela Nature Reserve. A total of about 40km.
At the same time, other group of people did the hike “Janela do Inferno”, for those who prefered to walk instead of cycle.
The activity included a picnic in Macela with all the participant. We celebrated GreenBiker’s 2nd birthday with a stylish cake. The day culminated with the return to Ponta Delgada. ‘Down hill all the saints help’..
The activity had an even more special significance for all of us because it took place on April 25, our day of revolution and freedom.
